Today I will be crossing the Colombia river on the Bridge of he Gods. I can’t believe it. One more state to walk through, and I will have done this thing. Incredible! I feel so blessed to have had this opportunity. I know that Washington is going to blow my mind even more than Oregon! It’s going to be much more difficult too, but also more rewarding I think.
I have had a great last ‘zero’ day here in Cascade Locks and in Hood River. I rested, stayed at the comfort inn suites, ate delicious food, washed my sleeping bag, bought 6 days of food (my last long stretch) and got new kicks that will hopefully be better for my feet. It is beautiful here and the people are so nice and accommodating. People still cannot fathom a girl like me would be doing this…alone. There is the usual quick response of ‘oh I’m fine and there is tons of people out here’ since its a much longer story to explain of what I am really doing. The truth is, yes I am on my own and it’s wonderful. I have he complete support and love from my husband and family and best friends, which makes this all possible. I have had the chance to really be with myself and get to know more of me. It’s been life changing and I feel I’ve already grown so much from this and become a better and more alive person. I have so much to give and the power to do more than I ever thought, and its truly amazing to be in this positive mental state.
Anyway, more when I get home and get to see all of you.
Wish me luck as I go into the state of WA. It will be grand. Love and miss you all, and know you have helped get me here! Woo hoo!
