Hello all! I am almost to agua dulce! Woo hoo! I can’t wait. Well I guess I can because I got to the Acton KOA around 445 today and was easily persuaded to just call it a day and camp here tonight instead of trying to get a chunk of the 10 remaining miles in tonight. Why?? There is a jacuzzi and very nice grass to camp on. I haven’t had very good campsites he last 2 nights so I decided to stay, eat takeout wash my extremely dirty feet and legs, soak in he jacuzzi ( feet only) and go to sleep early for an early start in the morning. Also was able to charge my dead phone here ( a big plus)! So I thought I’d give a general update. I think what I will do from now on is type general updates when I arrive in town and have my daily trail notes transcribed. Thank you Joan!
There are a few other hikers here tonight. Most I have just been passing on the trail; don’t know any of them too well. Ugliest cheerleader is here too– an older guy who did he trail last year and who I met near big bear. He is very opinionated and seems to know everything about he trail, and is kind of annoying about it. He thinks the trail angel houses ahead are a rip off and not as nice as this KOA. So I’m kinda glad we haven’t hiked together. The last 2 days have been solo hiking. In some ways it’s nice to be alone. I’m on my own schedule and can break whenever I want and go the bathroom wherever I want lol. But I do miss my friends I was hiking with before wrihtwood.
The last two days have been filled with detours and poodle dog bush and I maintained trail sections. I think it’s due to the 2011 station fire. And lots of up and down. I think his is the dirtiest I have been the whole trail. My legs and feet were black today! Including my socks. I will appreciate the saufleys stay very much! Well, time for bed! 5 am hike start tomorrow! Wish me luck!
