Notes from Mission Creek Trl Camp to ??

5/15/13 (Transcribed from handwritten notes)
Today was much easier than yesterday, although still hard due to being knocked to hell yesterday. I think I got so tired and worn from the heat and climb up into the mountains that my body didn’t know how to react or relax for the night, thus making it an unrestful night. I was a bit cold, and therefore uncomfortable, so I tossed and turned most of the night. Boo. I got up at 6:30 this morning, instead of at 5 am, which I had planned for. Everyone else was up before me, and by the time I popped out of my tent, only one guy was left there. It was extremely hard to filter four liters of water out of the barrel of ice cold spring water.  It took a really long time. I like my Sawyer Squeezsy (I just totally forgot how to spell squeeze… brain fart!) system, although the bags aren’t that durable (my big one got a hole in it already) and it is hard to fill the bag unless it’s a mostly vertical, powerful flow.  So, I need a wide mouth plastic bottle to retrieve the water out of non-flowing pools such as this barrel, and a bigger squeeze bag. ( Jamie’s note: to be continued) [transcribed 5/20/13, note from transcriber:  that was the last of the pages in this bundle, so we’ll just have to wait to see what happened till Jamie becomes communicado again with the outside world.  Frazier is still on track to meet her tomorrow, Tuesday night in the San Gabriel Mountains

So exciting to hear you’re hiking the PCT, Jamie! I ran into Frazier, and he told me about it. Happy trails!

You are so very awesome. Happy trails and happy feet! (our temps have been high 90’s, low 100’s but next few days will be low to mid 90’s. )
