Second Zero day at Whitewater

Today is all about organizing and planning for the next legs of my adventure. I decided it would be easiest to just plan from here to the end of the sierras (lake tahoe) because I plan on flying home for a day zero then to see my hubby and so, I can finalize the rest of my re-supply boxes. I think I have enough food for all of them….hopefully! I know I will just continue to eat more and more as the hike goes on.

I am still feeling really good. Nice to have the rest for my legs and feet. They are fine, just a bit sore. Yesterday they swelled some, due to the stop of constant movement. The meat of my foot pad on one foot is still a bit sore, but not enough to affect my gait, thankfully.

There are a LOT of hikers here at the preserve today, so I think I am in the top of the last third of the herd of thru-hikers.

Saturday night was really cool because 2 of our trail buddies whom we had been hiking with for the last 4 days, made it to the preserve by evening time, and we were able to some ‘trail magic’ for them by inviting them over to the house for a BBQ feast with our friends, showers, and a bed to sleep on. I also made them breakfast the next morning! Its just a small portion of the paying forward I will do 🙂

***For anyone who wants to send me anything in the mail along the trail, I would absolutely LOVE it, but please make sure to let me know if you plan on doing so; that way I make sure to visit the post office wherever I am. I plan on stopping in Wrightwood and Agua Dulce before hitting Kennedy Meadows in the beginning of June.

Well, back to packing my food supplies.

Love you all! Thanks for reading!
