Ready for the border!

So its been a few days back home and it has been busy busy but also a nice and restful. I figured I would update on how I’m getting ready to the next leg of my trip. I jus finished packing my bag and……I shave some weight off!! I had extra supplies and food last week making my bag 40 pounds ( eek ) by now I have it down to 30.5!!  For this leg I only need 4 liters of water an 4 days of food to start out with since there are 3 resupply points along the way that we are using. So I’m psyched!! Plus, I will have the hubby along for the ride with me. He gets a much needed vacation from work (yes, backpacking is a vacation in our worlds) and I get him! It will be a lot of fun. Its our first time being out in the wilderness for extended period of time, and in the desert.

I think we are ready. I haven’t done anything but eat since I got back. I have the maps an water report all ready to go. The last thing we need to finalize is our ride to the border.

Tomorrow is cleaning the house, mailing out our resupply box and resting. Wish us luck!! Pics to follow tomorrow of our packed bags 🙂
