So, Monday I will be starting my trek on the PCT. I have decided to get some ‘practice’ by doing a leg of the PCT near the Mojave (town of, not the region) first, as it will be much hotter in May if I did it on the official timeline. I will be doing 7 day stretch and coming back to Whitewater to start with the rest of the ‘herd’ at the Kickoff even on last weekend of April. I am so excited to have my husband join me for the first 177 miles of my adventure. He will then try to re-join me as time permits for small legs. I also have a handful of friends that would like to hike parts with me, so I promised I would get a rough itinerary lined out before I left to give them so they can have a bit easier time in their planning to join me.
I am pretty lucky to have this opportunity in my life, and I will not take it for granted. I love my life, and everyone in it, but I definitely was at a stalwart in choosing the next chapter of my life, so I decided to do this crazy thing called ‘thru-hiking’ the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) to regain focus, get empowered and rejuvenated, and to toughen up. I am a softie in a lot of ways. I love nature, and it has been my source of spiritual connection in this life, so I know I will get some newfound perspective and see some beautiful things happen. Ok, I am digressing a bit… Here is my schedule thus far:
April 15th: start in Lancaster area and go to Mojave towards Walker Pass (testing out my legs, gear, and attitude so not sure how far I will get to Walker Pass)

These next 4 stops are ones that I would really appreciate friends to come and meet me on the trail, as the towns are long hitches away from the trail. So, please, sign up for any one of these. If I have no one for one of these stops, I won’t leave the trail.
